Trinity Square alive with local talent as Trinity’s Got Talent 2026 winner crowned

Trinity Square, Gateshead was buzzing with energy on Saturday 12 September, as the local community gathered for our highly anticipated Trinity’s Got Talent 2026 competition.

Hosted outdoors in the heart of the square, the annual event is one of the highlights of our calendar and brings together local performers of all ages to compete on stage for a chance to perform at the Christmas Light Switch On 19 November 2026.

The day started bright and early with the stage set-up ahead of the 11am start. Broken into three rounds the event featured a dynamic lineup of both singers and dancers, split across three main competition rounds:

• Round 1: Lynsey Coults and Adrian Kwa, Ava May Manning, Ryan Bell, Bella MacLennan, and Kaia Dempsey.
• Round 2: Elliott Webster, Harper Milligan, Benji Wood, and Lily Perrin.
• Round 3: Kenzy Hogg, Liam Byworth, Sehaj and Tajveer Batth, Anae Ketani, and Monika Bayati.

In addition to the contestants, crowds were treated to special guest performances throughout the day by judges Hopper, Helena Lily, and Laura Fulgenzi, as well as previous winner Charlie Atchinson.

Behind the scenes and on the ground, #TeamTrinity staff in bright pink and orange event tees, customer service, janitorial and security staff ensured the day ran smoothly, taking votes, managing schedules and keeping the energy high.

After three packed rounds and a nail-biting final, the judges and public votes officially named the Trinity’s Got Talent 2026 Winner as Harper Mulligan.

In a surprise turn Trinity Square Centre Manager Sharron Ashurst announced that, due to the quality of the entries, not just the top three, but all five of the acts who took part in the final will feature at the Christmas light switch on.
