Two junctions will see the existing lanes slightly widened, and two roundabouts will see dedicated, segregated lanes added for left turns, to improve the flow of vehicles.
As the affected roads are in our town centre, with significant volumes of traffic at peak times, we are going to install the improvements late in the evening and over night.
We will ensure lanes are kept open at peak times, to minimise any potential congestion.
A small piece of enabling work will take place this Sunday, 9th January, followed by daytime work outside of the main carriageway from Monday, 10th January. Works on the carriageway will begin on the evening of Monday 17th January.
We expect the whole programme to take a number of weeks to complete, finishing by the end of March. We will minimise disruption to local residents and other road users wherever possible.
