GATESHEAD SET TO ‘GLOW’ AT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS EVENT

Gateshead will start its official countdown to Christmas when its town centre shopping and leisure complex Trinity Square switches on its Christmas lights tomorrow night.

Thursday 21st November 2019

4.00pm – 6.30pm

A host of local acts and performers will entertain the crowds and Santa will meet and greet them in his grotto. North East radio presenters Justin Lockwood and Kelly Scott will again host the show which includes performances from The Felling Male Voice Choir, Happy Feet Dance School and a spectacular adaptation of the phenomenon that is Frozen by Envisage.

Leonie Voss will also be on stage with her Rita Ora tribute, Leonie has supported the likes of 90’s group 5ive, The Backstreet Boys and Westlife.

Also joining the light switch on will be 10-year-old World Transplant Games Medallist Phoebe Pace from Gateshead. Phoebe won three gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the summer’s event held in NewcastleGateshead.

The event is free to attend.  Money raised on the night through raffle tickets and merchandise sales will go to Trinity Square’s nominated charity Tiny Lives.  So far Trinity Square has raised over £6,000 for Tiny Lives who support the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI in Newcastle.
